My ceramics practice is based on memory and the recall of memory through objects and place. I am interested in the “internal” archiving of small moments that then build up to inform who we are. My working methodology is to record through drawing and listening. Drawings are often from the ephemeral, shadows and organic objects along with small overlooked details of buildings and structures.
Previous intervention work has included text. This has been the overheard conversation whilst I am drawing. These dialogues are often peoples memories that are drawn out by looking at objects or being in a particular environment.
The drawings and text are then applied to slip cast or hand built ceramic using screen print.
